What Staffability is designed to explore, and what it deliberately does not
Staffability Index™ is being developed to explore natural orientation towards creating value at work. It is not designed to provide a complete measure of a person.
It is not designed to measure:
- broad personality
- intelligence
- emotional intelligence
- overall Capability
- professional Competence
- job performance
- promotion readiness
- hiring suitability
- leadership quality
- human worth
Its scope is deliberately narrower.
Four independent Ability scores
The current Staffability model uses four Ability Types:
Strategic Pathfinder™
Insight Navigator™
Systems Architect™
Delivery Accelerator™
The Staffability Index is designed to produce an independent score for each. The four scores do not add to 100. A higher score in one Ability does not mathematically require a lower score in another. The complete four-score profile remains the central Staffability result.
Primary Ability without a manufactured winner
Where the profile sufficiently differentiates one Ability, Staffability may identify a Primary Ability™. Where two leading Abilities are too close to justify that distinction, the profile can instead be described as Closely Paired. Where the four scores sit relatively close together, the profile can be described as Broad / Balanced.
Staffability does not manufacture a Primary simply because its product promise refers to discovering one. The profile must support the conclusion.
A versioned measurement system
Staffability is being built as a living measurement system rather than a questionnaire created once and never changed. As evidence develops, the methodology must be capable of evolving.
construct definitions
question wording
question selection
scoring
classification
interpretation
report content
Material changes must be version-controlled. Historical results must remain traceable to the exact methodology and configuration that produced them.
Improve Staffability without rewriting its history.
Current status
The current working assessment contains 32 questions. Those questions remain subject to review, testing and change as evidence develops.
The current scoring transformation and Profile Clarity rules are provisional working configurations. They exist so that the product can be built and tested. They must not be confused with completed psychometric validation or established population norms. Prototype Staffability scale values must not be presented as percentiles.
Deterministic scoring
Core Staffability scoring is deterministic and version-controlled. Generative AI does not decide:
Ability scores
Primary Ability
Secondary Ability
Profile Clarity
Ability Combination
The same responses under the same assessment and scoring versions must reproduce the same result.
Measurement boundary
Staffability describes natural Ability orientation. It does not establish:
the complete range of what someone can do
what occupation someone should pursue
what role they should hold
whether they should be hired
whether they should be promoted
how competent they are at a particular task
Ability is one form of information. It is not the whole person.
